Are You Resting In The Father?

Often my over-ambitious personality keeps me from really resting in The Spirit. I'm always thinking of how to trump my last goal. Plus I am a big dreamer and can't stand mediocrity. This trait can breed restlessness. The never ending search for contentment and happiness and ultimate satisfaction. But what is all of that really? What does it look like? Can it really be defined? I have been in Chattanooga for 9 months now and thru several experimental activities such as moving to a new place with no fam or friends nearby, leaving behind most of the things I owned, taking a bold step that contradicts my core beliefs about health, living w/ no bed for 4 months, no TV for 6 months, selling my baby benzy, building a network of new friends from scratch, engaging in pen pal writing, getting spiritual and professional counseling and so much more... Live without some material things for a season and truly experience what it means to Rest in the Father.
Through all of it, I have discovered that it will behoove me to learn to rejoice in the little things NOW as a young woman in order to preserve my health, my youth and my spirit.
I have been reminded that ultimately this is what is most important. No matter what our goals are, no matter our challenges, no matter our heartaches & broken hearts, no matter our disappointments..they will never compare to the price Christ paid for all of us. And for that reason only, we must strive EVERYDAY to learn to REST...Rest in the Father. He wants us healthy physically, mentally and spiritually and they are all of equal importance in my opinion.
This is a daily challenge I set for myself and I'm just sharing it with you guys. Love you all. :-)
